Wow. It has been nearly SIX(!) long years since there was any news to report in the Marshmallow Duel world, but today we're breaking that silence with some good news for all those out there who own XBoxes.
Russ of PotentialGameStudios has been hard at work for the last odd year polishing his interpretation of the classic title, and it has finally been released to the public (Well, all this happened some months ago, we are a bit behind the 8-ball here :p)
You can download it from the XBLA marketplace, or read more on it here.
Outside of the official trailer (which appears as though it may be recorded from a development version of the game), there is some pretty good gameplay footage on YouTube as well.
Keep on Dueling!
New Fan Game 30 May 2007
A lively dude by the name of BaTeCzKo recently contacted us about his latest creation - Marshmallow Duel Reloaded.
This game features MANY new pickup types, as well as a map editor and some unique ideas about the way tiles work in Marshmallow Duel.
If you enjoy it, write and tell us in the forum, because he seems pretty keen to keep this thing updated and exciting!
Go ahead to our fan stuff page to find the download link.
Amongst the features added, you'll find statistics tracking, use of the bottom screen and configuration for many game options including the number of pickups.
By far the best feature, however, is that the game is extremely stable now and you can play it with properly working sound, even on a PC!
Because this is the final version I plan on doing, the game has also gone open-source and is now released under the GPL. Programmers rejoice and feel free to add to the glory.
It has been a very long time coming and people have been clamouring for it for ages - and today I'm proud to present to you all the first beta release of a new and improved version of the classic Marshmallow Duel!!
Marshmallow Duel DS contains or improves upon everything that made the original Marshmallow Duel and Mowbray's Revenge so great - it even has the 6 new weapons from Mowbray's Revenge in it.
You can download it for free and find out more by going to the downloads page or clicking the image below:
